ADOPTION
Foreigners travelling to Brazil to bring to the Netherlands an adopted child require this type of visa. International adoption proceedings in the Netherlands are carried through only by the intermission of Wereldkinderen, an adoption agency. Would-be adoptive parents should seek guidance from Wereldkinderen at the address below:

Would-be adoptive parents who are Dutch nationals may travel to Brazil to visit eligible adoptive children without a visa. However, once the adoption proceedings are terminated in Brazil (with an adoption order issued by a Brazilian judge), the adoptive parents should request an adoption visa from the General Consulate in order to be able to travel with the adopted child from Brazil to the Netherlands
REQUIREMENTS FOR A VISA APPLICATION
A - Passport valid for at least 6 months
B - One recent 3 cm x 4 cm photograph, front view
C– One visa application form (click here to fill in the form). Please disregard the error message about the website’s security certificate. Click at “Continue to this website (not recommended)”.
Fill in the form. . Click "SEND" to receive your processing number and receipt. . Print the receipt. . Attach your photograph . Sign the receipt. . Bring the duly completed and signed receipt, the original documentation, passport and payment.
The visa application form filled out online is valid for one month only. If you apply after that period, it will be necessary to fill out another form.
D - A letter signed by an official of Wereldkinderen, bearing the signet of that institution, written in Portuguese, English, French or Spanish and addressed to the undersigned. The letter must inform the names of the adopting parents, their address in the Netherlands, the state of Brazil in which the adoption will take place, and the address and name of the official of Wereldkinderen in Brazil who is in charge of the adoption procedure. This letter in sent to the Consulate General by Werelkinderen itself.

G On a reciprocity basis, first entry into Brazil must be made within 90 days after the visa has been issued for passport holders of the following countries: Angola, Bahrain, Cambodia, China, Gabon, Ghana, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Laos, Lybia, Myanmar, Nigeria, Paraguay, Philippines, Portugal, Thailand, Tunisia and Switzerland.
